“When GRACE becomes AMAZING!” (the God of all Grace) – Part 3
(Part 3 of 3)
Thirdly, brings us security, eternal security! That’s amazing.
Finally, you see, Jesus came to bring us grace, not only to make grace appear, but to make grace abound to us. Yes, as worthy as we are (only in Christ), as John Newtonish as we are, as eternal as we were made to be, as called by God as we are, Jesus came to make grace available to us (“the Lord has promised good to me” and “God will be forever mine”). 2 Corinthians 4:14-18 “Knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you. For all things are for your sakes, THAT GRACE, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God. Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 8:7-9 “As you abound in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all diligence, and in your love for us—see that you ABOUND IN THIS GRACE also. I speak not by commandment, but I am testing the sincerity of your love by the diligence of others. For you know the GRACE OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.” 2 Corinthians 13:4-5,11,14 “For though He was crucified in weakness, yet He lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God toward you. Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified. Become complete. Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. The GRACE OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.”
2 Thessalonians 2:16 “Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and GOOD HOPE BY GRACE.” 2 Timothy 1:7-10,12 “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to HIS OWN PURPOSE AND GRACE which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.”
That is amazing grace! Salvation, strength, and security (eternal security).
Through life’s dangers, toils, and snares.
Have you ever had that moment?
Has grace ever become amazing to you like it became to John Newton? Have you ever had the hour where you first believed? Has grace relieved your fears? Has grace become precious to you? Is grace leading you home? It is the moment that GRACE becomes AMAZING!
Amazing Grace lyrics – part 2
The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures; He will my Shield and Portion be, As long as life endures.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease, I shall possess, within the veil, A life of joy and peace.
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who called me here below, Will be forever mine.
When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise Than when we’d first begun.
In closing, like John Newton and like me, and like everybody else, you’ll come to moments in life, where you need grace that’s so amazing, it can only come from one place –> the God of all grace.
What’s your life story? what’s your journey?
It’s your account of your life’s past, present, and future!
It’s your autobiography to write.
No wonder it’s the very last verse of the Bible.
Revelation 22:21 “The GRACE OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST be with you all. Amen.”
When grace becomes amazing!
Picture the Circle of Life…. Life should be spent with God as the center point of your circle. Amazing Grace is the gratitude of yourself being in a humble state. Allowing God and Christ to mediate through your life. As your circle of influence expands so as the Grace that exudes from God will pour out to the people in your circle or circles.
